Basic Financial Management
Every year Bridge Scholars are invited to participate in a Basic Financial Management course. Students spend 6 afternoons participating in a financial literacy workshop hosted by the Office of Financial Aid. The afternoon financial literacy and planning workshops are only for Bridge Scholars and can only be taken once.

We will cover:
- analysis of personal budget
- goal setting for the college years
- financial aid 101: Grants, loans, work, paperwork, and more
- managing employment, earning, saving, and spending while in college
- tax planning and filing your own taxes
- time value of money, loans, and interest
- Investing and risk management
- planning for retirement
- planning to finance large purchases
- protecting assets and income
- analyzing investment information
- planning for retirement
A $100 grant will be added to the financial aid package when students complete all the sessions along with a final project.
